Paul Jackson
Associate Member of the Emeritus College
Born in Indiana, Paul E. Jackson grew up in Phoenix, Arizona when his family moved there after the Second World War. After high school, Jackson attended what was then Phoenix Junior College, going to graduate from ASU in 1959 with a major in Journalism. After five years bouncing around in advertising and television in Phoenix and New York, Jackson returned to ASU to pursue a Ph.D. in English. He began painting as a hobby in 1970 when his wife Jane, who had just finished a Ph.D. in Physics, gave him an oil painting set as a graduation present. While teaching in South Dakota, Jackson also worked with water colors. He most enjoys landscape painting, especially in the desert.
