Louis Weschler
Professor Emeritus of Public Affairs
Lou Weschler served as Dean of the College of Public Programs. In the 1950s he worked as a part-time illustrator and landscape painter in southern California. During his doctoral studies in political science at UCLA, 1960-64, he painted and sold several paintings done in the style of the Abstract Impressionists. He stopped serious painting in 1966 and returned to it upon his retirement from ASU in 2000. Since returning to painting, he uses acrylic paints and inks to produce naturalistic and abstract works. His current efforts include paintings, prints and mixed-media pieces. All of his work is in private collections.
