Gene Valentine taught rhetoric, linguistics and history of the book for twenty-three years at ASU before retiring to become full-time printer and papermaker for Almond Tree Press and Paper Mill in Tempe. He received his graduate education at Utah State University, the University of Utah, and Arizona State University. He has taught at Anatolia College in Thessaloniki, Greece; the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain; and at both Utah universities. He has published a popular Greek cookbook, and with Kristin Bervig Valentine he has coauthored articles on Galician Spanish ethnography.
